Arsenal Line-Up Surprise Move for South American Goal Machine

Emirates Stadium side track unstoppable marksman.

Arsenal are reportedly tracking in-form Colombian forward Jackson Martinez according to TuttoMercatoWeb.

Arsene Wenger is no doubt keen on bringing in additional attacking options as his Gunners side does now rely heavily on French forward Olivier Giroud, not least because Lukas Podolski and Theo Walcott are not only used primarily in wide roles but both have injury concerns.

Martinez has been in phenomenal form since moving to Portugal back in July 2012, scoring 37 goals in 47 appearances and helped his side to a Primeira Liga title last term and is a player the Estadio Dragao side would not want to lose though it is worth noting that FC Porto are well known for selling promising talents for big profits, indeed previous striking talents Hulk and Radamel Falcao have gone on to big money moves in recent seasons.

Arsenal are not well known for signing established experienced star turns but their summer acquisition of Mesut Ozil for a club record £42m may well have set the precedent for further spending as the North London club look to make the most of an excellent start to the season.

Arsenal sit top of the Premier League table and have won both their opening Champions League fixtures against Marseille and Napoli.
