Tottenham New-Boy Already Earmarked For Future Move To Chelsea

Spurs summer signing admired by Jose Mourinho.

The agent of new Tottenham signing Vlad Chiriches has controversially talked up a possible move to Chelsea in the future, according to the Metro.

The Romanian defender has had a move to White Hart Lane from Steaua Bucharest held up over work permit complications, and it has now emerged that joining Spurs may be seen as something of a stepping stone for him as he seeks to sign for Chelsea in the future.

His agent Victor Becali claims Blues manager Jose Mourinho has been an admirer of the player since his time at Real Madrid, and will look to put in a bid for 23-year-old in the next couple of seasons if he performs well in England.

“If he has one or two good seasons at Tottenham, Chelsea will be willing to pay a large sum to buy Chiriches,” said Becali.

“Mourinho says he has been aware of him since he was at Real Madrid.”

This will come as something of a blow to Totteham fans, who already witnessed their side miss out to Chelsea for the signing of Willian this summer, when the Brazilian seemed all but set to join them from Anzhi Makhachkala.

Spurs will be unlikely to sell a key player to a rival, though it will be interesting to see how Chiriches’ time at the club develops after these revelations, and if he does go on to force through a move to Stamford Bridge at some point.
