Premier League target came close to leaving.
Barcelona defender Marc Bartra admits he considered leaving the club this summer after becoming a target for the likes of Crystal Palace and West Ham, according to talkSPORT.
The 22-year-old, also attracting interest from Inter Milan, is not always a regular in the starting lineup at the Nou Camp, and could still be set for an exit at the end of the season.
Bartra says he is now happy to have stayed with Barcelona after holding talks with manager Gerardo Martino, though he refused to fully commit himself to the club.
“During the summer I had admit I had some doubts about what to do, whether to stay at Barcelona or not,” he said.
“I was convinced to try something new but then the coach persuaded me not to go away and now I’m so happy. I think I made the right choice.”
He added: “I think the club and my agent will talk about these things. I prefer to stay calm and focus on my work day by day.”
