Exclusive: Arsenal Target Hugely Ambitious Move to Sign £65m Trio

Emirates Stadium side plan spending spree.

Arsene Wenger will be handed a massive war-chest to invest in new talent over the course of the next two transfer windows as Arsenal look to push on with efforts to end their lengthy silverware drought.

Buoyed by the club record £42.5m capture of German international Mesut Ozil the Gunners boss will once again look to conduct a Real Madrid raid as Wenger seeks to finally land striker Karim Benzema.

The French international forward has long been linked with interest from the North London club with Wenger said to have made a move to bring in Benzema prior to his switch from Lyon to the Bernabeu.

Wenger is looking to strengthen his attack knowing that currently his side relies heavily on Olivier Giroud as he prefers to play both Theo Walcott and Lukas Podolski in wide roles. This lack of alternatives up front has even led to the return of Nicklas Bendtner to the first team set-up.

Benzema has been the subject of abuse from a portion of the Real Madrid faithful and could perhaps be tempted by a new challenge after four years at the Spanish giants.

Wenger is ready to make an offer of around £30m for Benzema and the success of any potential bid will depend greatly on whether Carlo Ancelotti has his sights set on possible striking replacements.

Arsene Wenger is also keen to bring in Borussia Dortmund star Marco Reus but could well struggle to persuade the Bundesliga side to consider offers for such a pivotal member of Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Wenger is a long term admirer of the German international, who has been a big success since leaving Borussia Monchengladbach to the Westfalenstadion.

Reus has scored 26 goals in 58 appearances for Borussia Dortmund and is now a regular in Joachim Low’s national team set-up and would appear to be very satisfied with his progress under Klopp however a number of players have left the club for pastures new and as such Wenger may fancy his chances of luring the attacking midfielder to the Emirates Stadium.

The likes of Nuri Sahin, Shinji Kagawa and Mario Gotze have left Dortmund in recent seasons and Polish forward Robert Lewandowski is likely to follow suit when his contract comes to an end in the summer.

Wenger will wait until next summer to mount a move for Reus with a bid of around £35m at the ready and should Borussia Dortmund fail to secure major silverware this term then perhaps Arsenal’s chances of signing the intelligent attacker will have been increased.

Arsene Wenger will also look to bring in Barcelona keeper Victor Valdes next summer though the Arsenal boss knows his side will be just one of a number of Europe’s ‘Elite’ looking to snap up the 31 year old Spanish international.

Valdes will be a free agent at the end of the season and Wenger is keen to bring in the experienced keeper to act as stiff direct competition for young Pole Wojciech Szcz?sny.

Valdes has already stated publicly that he will leave the Nou Camp and the likes of AS Monaco, Chelsea and Man City are known to be keen on the Barcelona star.
