Italian giants could be set to replace their manager.
New Inter Milan owner Erick Thohir may be considering replacing the club’s current manager Walter Mazzarri with Atletico Madrid’s highly-rated boss Diego Simeone, according to Forza Italian Football.
The Indonesian businessman bought out the majority of the club’s shares earlier this month and this has seen the San Siro club linked with some big-name purchases in recent weeks.
Players such as Iker Casillas and Sergio Ramos could be on Inter’s agenda when the transfer window re-opens in January, but Thohir may also be looking into replacing the club’s manager in the near future.
Simeone, who represented Inter during his playing career, has made a terrific start to life in management, turning Atletico Madrid into genuine title contenders against the might of Barcelona and Real Madrid in La Liga.
This has seen the Argentine coach linked with some bigger names in recent times, and it is widely expected that he will land himself a top job in the future, though Inter’s recent takeover could mean there is a tempting position available for him this season.
Current manager Mazzarri only joined the Milan giants in the summer, but his side have not enjoyed the most convincing start to the season.
