Top Ten Premier League Goals Of The Season So Far (Oct 2013)

Here is our pick of the best ten Barclays Premier League goals scored in the 2013/14 season so far.

10 – Frank Lampard – Chelsea vs Hull City

From the opening day of the season, a wonderfully struck free kick from all of 30 yards that just didn’t seem to want to dip. It’s an impressive skill to be able to launch a shot like that with the trajectory it had, and another fine effort to add to Frank Lampard’s collection.

9. Edin Dzeko – Manchester City vs Cardiff City

One of the few bright sparks to come from Man City’s surprise 3-2 defeat to newly promoted Cardiff City was Dzeko’s wonderful link up play with Sergio Aguero and subsequent 20 yard thunderbolt.

8. Hatem Ben Arfa – Newcastle United vs Fulham

Newcastle winger Ben Arfa is well known for cutting inside with an innate ability to keep the ball glued to his foot before curling sublime long distance efforts into the top corner, as he does brilliantly here against Fulham.

7. Aaron Ramsey – Arsenal vs Sunderland

Undoubtedly this season’s most in-form player, Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey notched his second goal against Sunderland in emphatic style against an ailing Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.

6. Roberto Soldado – Tottenham Hotspur vs Aston Villa

The second best Tiki-Taka goal of the weekend. This well worked passage of play undid an already static Villa defence to cement the score at 2-0.

5. Adnan Januzaj – Manchester United vs Sunderland

The United youngster announced his arrival on the Premier League stage with a well taken brace against hapless Sunderland. Both are impressively well-taken strikes, but it is the expert left-footed volley that won all three points that takes the plaudits.

4. Steve Sidwell – Fulham vs Crystal Palace

Sidwell has a history of scoring breathtaking goals every now and again. This latest net buster came from just outside the area after a deflection gave him no choice but to strike.

3. Danny Welbeck – Manchester United vs Swansea City

Not a renowned goal-scorer, but Danny Welbeck got off the mark for the season with the cheekiest of chips, which wrapped up all three points for the defending champions, and it was so coolly taken too!

2. Pajtim Kasami – Fulham vs Crystal Palace

A superbly well-taken goal in which Fulham starlet Pajtim Kasami displayed fantastic technique to twist his body in such a way and hit the target from so far out. His manager Martin Jol compared it with Marco van Basten’s famous strike, but it narrowly misses out on the number one spot here.

1. Jack Wilshere – Arsenal vs Norwich City

Poor Norwich, they didn’t stand a chance against this superb team goal. Arsenal’s build up to this goal was like a gang of sadistic cats toying with some bewildered mice.
