Barca to compete with Arsenal and United for Bundesliga star.
Barcelona are the latest club to be linked with a move for Borussia Dortmund forward Marco Reus ahead of the January transfer window, according to Sports Direct News.
The 24-year-old has been a key performer for Dortmund over the last couple of seasons, and is becoming increasingly in-demand among Europe’s biggest clubs.
Reus is said to have a minimum release clause fee of around £34m, which Barcelona may now be willing to activate in order to beat the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United to his signature this season.
The German international is a highly versatile attacking player, capable of playing out wide, in midfield or as a striker, and Barca manager Gerardo Martino may feel he could do a job upfront for his side as the Catalan giants continue to be linked with several other forward players.
Some surprise names have been identified as targets for the La Liga champions, such as Miroslav Klose and David Trezeguet, but a big-money bid for Reus could now be on the cards.
Dortmund will be hoping to hold on to their star player, with Mario Goetze leaving for Bayern Munich in the summer and leading scorer Robert Lewandowski looking likely to do the same.
