Spurs and Chelsea keep eye on big Brazilian.
The agent of Zenit St Petersburg striker Hulk has placed Premier League giants Tottenham and Chelsea on high alert as he drops a hint towards the player’s exit from the Russian side, Sports Direct News reports.
Both London sides were reported to have made approaches for the 27-year-old over the summer, but were knocked back by Zenit who saw him as a central figure in their plans this season.
However, Hulk saw much of his campaign ruined by injuries and didn’t make the kind of impact that many were hoping for, although he did recover toward the end of the season to bag seven goals in his final nine games and interest in his services has began to increase again as the January transfer window approaches.
And the player’s agent, Teodoro Fonseca, has refused to rule out a move to England for his client.
“I have already said before that Hulk is very happy at Zenit. He has an excellent relationship with [Zenit boss] Luciano Spalletti and with his team-mates,” he said.
“As regards offers from the Premier League, I cannot comment. Hulk is still very young and has it all ahead of him.”
Spurs manager Andre Villas-Boas is already well acquainted with the player having worked with him at Porto and could find himself in pole position should he decide to make a move, though Zenit will want to recoup as much of the £32m the initially paid for him.
