Villa Park side keen on Genk forward.
Aston Villa have identified Genk striker Jelle Vossen as a potential replacement for Christian Benteke according to Sports Direct News.
Paul Lambert may well be concerned that Benteke will be wrestled from his grasp in January and it’s therefore sensible to consider viable options to replace the 22 year old Belgian, who scored 19 goals in his first Premier League season, essentially keeping Aston Villa from being relegated to the Championship in the process.
Vossen has been in fine form at Genk over the past three seasons, during which he has netted 57 goals in domestic league action alone, and the 24 year old has already racked up 11 in all competitions thus far this season.
Any offer for Benteke would have to be at least double the £7m Aston Villa paid for his services, and as such it would in turn take a small portion of that fee to then lure Vossen to join the Midlands outfit.
