Stamford Bridge side want Atletico Madrid ace.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has set his sights on Atletico Madrid ace Diego Costa having seemingly ended his interest in AS Monaco’s Radamel Falcao according to Sports Direct News.

Mourinho is no doubt keen to strengthen his Blues attack given that his current quartet of strikers are failing to produce the good in the Premier League this season.

Samuel Eto’o, Fernando Torres, Andre Schurrle and Demba Ba have notched up just four goals between them this season and understandably this has led Mourinho to target a potential January addition to boost his attack.

With it being unlikely that AS Monaco would sell Falcao just months after his summer arrival at the Ligue 1 side it is perhaps wiser to concentrate efforts on bringing in 25 year old Brazilian born forward Diego Costa, who is due to earn his first Spanish national team cap later this week.

Costa scored 20 goals in all competitions last season but has hit an even hotter streak in 2013/14, netting 13 goals in 13 La Liga fixtures to help his Vicente Calderon side to split Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid in the domestic title race.
