Man City boss Manuel Pellegrini appears keen to offload a fair few players after his side’s disappointing start to the current campaign with Sports Direct News claiming as many as six players could be sold.
Defenders Micah Richards, Joleon Lescott and Aleksandar Kolarov are all apparently set to made available for prospective bidders with Pellegrini perhaps ready to bring in fresh options to offer back-up to his first choice starters.
Axed England keeper Joe Hart is also apparently a player who could be on his way out from the Etihad Stadium after being dropped following a series of high-profile blunders and defensive midfielder Javi Garcia may also be sacrificed with the Spaniard now playing second fiddle to summer signing Fernandinho.
Bosnian forward Edin Dzeko is also set to be sold and the former Wolfsburg man is apparently attracting the attention of Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund, who could see the Man City man as an ideal replacement for Pole Robert Lewandowski who seems set to leave in the summer when his contract comes to an end.
Dzeko has struggled to retain a foothold in the Etihad Stadium starting line-up ever since he completed his £27m move to the club back in January 2011, this despite the fact that the powerful forward has been scoring regularly for the club.
The former Wolfsburg man may have hoped his fortunes would change under new boss Manuel Pellegrini but that has not proven the case. Dzeko has been out of the starting eleven for the past four Premier League matches with the Chilean boss opting to use Sergio Aguero and Spanish signing Alvaro Negredo.
Dzeko has scored a total of 46 goals in 120 appearances of which a whopping 50 were from the bench.
