Goodison Park boss preparing for worst case scenario.
Everton boss Roberto Martinez appears to be readying a move to replace much sought after England man Leighton Baines by setting his sights on Swansea City left-back Ben Davies according to Sports Direct News.
Martinez knows Davies well from his time as Swans boss, when the young full-back was impressing in the club’s youth team, and the Toffees boss is apparently resigned to losing Baines in January, with a move to Man United appearing very likely.
Everton are likely to accept offers of around £15m and one would imagine the Welsh side wouldn’t have to invest more than half that to convince Swansea City to sell Davies, though Liberty Stadium boss Michael Laudrup may well fight tooth and nail to keep hold of the youngster.
Davies was voted the club’s young player of the year last season and has racked up 52 appearances for the club and has eight national team caps to his name is rightly considered one of the hottest young prospects in the Premier League.
