Man United Boss David Moyes Draws Up Nine Man January Wish-List

Old Trafford side ready to spend big in January.

Man United boss David Moyes is seemingly very keen to strengthen his squad after a stuttering start to the current campaign and the Daily Mail outlines nine players on the Scot’s transfer wish-list.

Moyes has set his sights on Borussia Dortmund duo Marco Reus and Ilkay Gundogan and is ready to use former Jurgen Klopp favourite Shinji Kagawa in part exchange in pursuit of the pair.

24 year old attacker Reus has a £29.4m release clause but Moyes will find it tough to convince the German international to leave Dortmund, who narrowly finished runners up in the Bundesliga and Champions League in the former Borussia Monchengladbach star’s first season at the club.

Box to box midfielder Gundogan may be considered a steely option to add some steel to Man United’s midfield and the strong running battler is also a force going forward.

Despite failing with summer advances for Barcelona star Cesc Fabregas the Premier League side are also still very much interested in the former Arsenal captain.

Moyes will have been encouraged by the Spaniard’s comments following his two-goal salvo against Real Betis on Saturday.

The 26 year old stated: ‘Today was time to say that I am here. I know the boss has a starting team in his head, and I am not in it.

Two more targets are clearly with a view to looking for a long term replacement for French veteran Patrice Evra, with Man United’s advances for Everton’s Leighton Baines seemingly faltering.

David Moyes is said to be interested in Southampton teenager Luke Shaw who has followed up last term’s run in the Saints first team with a good run of form this season.

Shaw broke into the Southampton first team last term, making 24 starts in all competitions, and has been a regular during the current campaign and has earned a call up to the England Under 21 set-up as a result of his consistent displays for the St Mary’s side.

Man United are similarly interested in Alberto Moreno, who only made his Sevilla first team debut in April 2012, who is now a good shot for a spot in Vicente del Bosque’s 2014 World Cup finals squad.

Sevilla have been on something of a fire-sale over the past year and sold Jesus Navas and Alvaro Negredo to Man City whilst Antonio Luna, Luis Alberto, Gary Medel and Jose Campana also completed Premier League moves to Aston Villa, Liverpool, Cardiff City and Crystal Palace respectively.

Man United are also scouting a quartet of Real Madrid squad with full-backs Marcelo and Fabio Coentrao being seen by Moyes as further alternatives to Evra with the Old Trafford side failing with a deadline day move to bring in the Portuguese wing-back .

Moyes is also keeping tabs on Argentine winger Angel Di Maria, who is said to be available for around £18m and Man United’s interest in the Bernabeu attacker may well be down to the very average displays shown by the likes of Nani, Ashley Young and Luis Antonio Valencia.

The 25 year old former Benfica man has started just one of Real Madrid’s last four fixtures with Gareth Bale beginning to make a real impact at the La Liga club.

Luka Modric is another member of Carlo Ancelotti’s side that is on Man United’s wish-list but is perhaps the least likely of the four to make a Real Madrid exit.

The Croatian struggled for form in his first few months at the Bernabeu but the cultured midfield schemer showed great consistency towards the end of last term and the former Tottenham man has started 13 of the Spanish giant’s 17 La Liga and Champions League fixtures this season.
