The Stamford Bridge side were keen on signing the Uruguayan in the summer but instead the former Napoli man opted to join Ligue 1 title holders PSG but by all accounts is not all that happy at the Parc des Princes.
Cavani is apparently unhappy about being overshadowed by the presence of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, though this is perhaps something the 26 year old would have surely expected.
However ‘unhappy’ Cavani is there seems little issue in terms of his form at the French capital club with the powerful forward netting 12 goals in 17 appearances in all competitions this term.
With Fernando Torres, Demba Ba and Samuel Eto’o all struggling for form there is certainly scope for a striker addition to boost Chelsea’s push for major honours in the first season of Jose Mourinho’s return to Stamford Bridge.
PSG paid £53m to sign Cavani and would surely only accept offers higher than such a fee in January.
