In football value is everything when it comes to the club’s biggest stars and in the Premier League this is no different.

Courtesy of transfermarkt.com, fanatix have determined the top 10 most valuable players from the English top tier.

10= Willian, Chelsea – £31m

The winger actually cost the Blues £32m so the value of the Brazil international has already dropped since signing from Anzhi Makhachkala in the summer.

10= Vincent Kompany, Manchester City – £31m

In many people’s eyes the Citizens captain is the best defender in the division and although Kompany has missed much of the campaign with injury, remains an important figure at the club.

8= David Silva, Manchester City – £35m

One of the most important signings City have made since coming into significant funds and the Spain international provides creativity on a consistent basis.

8= Sergio Aguero, Manchester City – £35m

The Argentine remains worth around the same figure the 2012 champions paid for the 25-year-old and with a string of impressive displays this term that is only going to rise.

6= Luis Suarez, Liverpool – £37m

Perhaps the most in-form player this season, Suarez has put a summer of sulking behind the South American to burst back onto the scene at Anfield with a bagful of goals.

6= Eden Hazard, Chelsea – £37m

It was a slow start for the winger but the Belgium star has since found the form that propelled Hazard to a PFA Player of the Year nomination last season.

2= Robin Van Persie, Manchester United – £39.5m

Perhaps one of the best buys Sir Alex Ferguson ever made as Red Devils boss, with the Dutchman arriving from Arsenal in the summer of 2012 for £24m and helping United to regain the title.

2= Wayne Rooney, Manchester United – £39.5m

It’s been another great season for the England international, despite looking like the 28-year-old would leave Old Trafford in the summer and Rooney has been arguably the side’s best player.

2= Juan Mata, Chelsea – £39.5m

Although clearly not a favourite of manager Jose Mourinho’s, this hard-working Spaniard remains one of the best players on the planet and may have to leave west London to realise that.

1. Mesut Ozil, Arsenal – £44m

Yet it’s little surprise who tops this list, as Ozil made the £42.4m move to the Gunners on transfer deadline day and remains one of the best footballers currently playing the game.
