Lukaku netted 17 goals during his time at West Brom last term and has continued to score regularly this season, scoring eight goals in nine Premier League starts for Everton, comfortably outscoring those he left behind at Chelsea.
Barcelona’s interest is however a little surprising as Gerardo Martino has a fair few attacking options at his disposal and his strike-force chiefly consists of relatively young players with the Nou Camp boss able to use the likes of Lionel Messi, Neymar, Alexis Sanchez, Pedro as well as a supporting cast of youngsters including Cristian Tello and others.
Lukakau would presumably jump at the chance of a move to Barcelona though could perhaps find himself swapping one bench for another given the amount of attacking talent the La Liga giants possess.
Everton would no doubt love to keep hold of the young Belgian but the chances of doing so are fairly slim, unless of course Roberto Martinez’s side can secure a Champions League berth.
