Martin Montoya (FC Barcelona)

It is an open secret on Merseyside that the Reds are currently on the look-out for a new full back after the recent long-term knee injury suffered by Spanish left-back Jose Enrique, and the player that head coach Brendan Rodgers is said to be targeting, according to the Daily Mail, is the Barcelona right back.

The 22-year-old only has a contract with the La Liga giants that runs until June 30 2014 and so his club would rather offload him in a cut-price deal when the transfer window opens again in January than lose him on a free next summer, with the Merseysiders poised ready to pounce for the versatile former Spain Under-23 international.

Everton Ribeiro (Cruzeiro)

The Reds are set to go head to head with arch-rivals Manchester United in the race to land the recently crowned Brazilian Player of the Season when the window swings open for action in January in what would represent a major coup for Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers, especially given the brilliant form that the 24-year-old attacking midfield player has been displaying for his club side so far in this campaign.

Lee Nicholls (Wigan Athletic)

Liverpool are keen to bring in a younger backup keeper for current first-choice shot-stopper Simon Mignolet, with the man that the Reds are said to be eyeing up being the Latics’ one-time England Under-19 international who has been shining for the Championship outfit in this campaign, notwithstanding one recent high-profile error against Zulte Waregem in the Europa League that is.

Jay Rodriguez (Southampton)

The young Saint has really caught the eye this season is their 24-year-old front man, whose four goals in 13 Premier League outings for the club have not only resulted in him making his full England debut in a friendly international against Chile at Wembley last month, but also in Liverpool coach Brendan Rodgers expressing an interest in the marksman.

Javier Pastore (Paris Saint-Germain)

Another big-name attacker that has been heavily linked with the Reds of late is that of the Ligue 1 champions’ out-of-favour Argentina international, a player who was brought to the Parc des Princes for 40 million euros from Serie A outfit Palermo two years ago, but who has recently fallen out of favour in the French capital.

Will Hughes ( Derby County)

The much talked about England U21 international has been the stand-out player so far in the Championship for the Rams, so much so that the 18-year-old has been mentioned on more than one occasion in the same breath as the Premier League giants, especially what with the club’s American owners the Fenway Sports Group known to favour a transfer policy that targets young up-and-coming British talent.

 Adam Lallana (Southampton)

The recently capped England international is enjoying a brilliant campaign so far for the high-flying Saints, and it is that eye-catching attacking form for the south-coast outfit which has resulted in the Reds sending scouts to St Mary’s to watch the 25-year-old left-sided midfield player in action with a view to possibly signing the player in the new year.

Cristian Tello (FC Barcelona)

If reports in the Daily Star are to be believed, then the Reds are set to land the coveted Spain international at the turn of the year in order to boost the attacking option at Brendan Rodgers’s disposal in the second half of this campaign, with the 22-year-old only having been used as a bit-part player so far in this campaign by the Catalan giants.

Konstantinos Mitroglou (Olympiakos)

The in-form Greek international has been hanging the goals in for both club and country all season long, with the 25-year-old having so far managed to hit the back of the net on an incredible 22 occasions in just 19 matches in total in all competitions.

And it is that kind of devastating form in front of goal that has led the Merseysiders to scout the striker on several occasions since the start of the campaign as boss Brendan Rodgers looks to add more fire power at Anfield in the second half of this season.

Moussa Dembele (Fulham)

The 17-year-old French forward with the exact same name as the Cottagers’ former midfield star was signed from Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain earlier this year, however, after having netted five goals in only four Premier League U21 matches, the young attacking starlet has already been promoted to the struggling west London club’s first team, and now the Reds are said to be poised to swoop for the centre forward at the turn of the year.
