Reds boss Brendan Rodgers and club owners Fenway Sports are willing to do anything in order to keep the 26-year-old at the club, and will even go as far as to offering him a new deal worth up to £250,000 per week.
However, should the controversial striker still demand a move, then the club will place his value at an astonishing £100m – £15m more than Real Madrid paid for Gareth Bale over the summer, and should the Spanish giants, or anyone else, still with to follow through on attaining his signature then they will have to smash the world record fee all over again.
The fee would likely put him out of reach of fellow Premier League rivals Arsenal, meaning that it would be down to Madrid and Barcelona to fight it out for his services.
A source said: “He will become the world’s first £100m player if he is to leave the club – that’s a certainty.”
