Three Cut-Price Signings that Could Help Arsenal to Premier League Title Success

Cost effective options that could boost the Emirates Stadium side’s push to end their lengthy silverware drought.

Dimitar Berbatov (Fulham)

Bulgarian could well be available in January with Fulham said to be ready to allow the experienced forward to leave and the 32 year old could add some much needed strength in depth to the Arsenal attack.

Wouldn’t cost much and as long as Gunners fans can ignore the striker’s previous Tottenham allegiance it’s the type of addition that could well aid a Premier League title push.

Arsenal have been overly reliant on Olivier Giroud thus far this season, especially with Theo Walcott and Lukas Podolski suffering with injury concerns, so a move for Berbatov could well not be as fanciful as it at first seems.

Berbatov is a proven Premier League goal-scorer having scored a total of 91 goals in 221 top tier appearances, of which 34 came from the bench.

Konstantinos Mitroglou (Olympiakos)

Greek striker can’t stop scoring and Olympiakos are not in a financial position to demand a massive fee for the 25 year old.

The lethal finisher netted 20 goals last term and has already racked up 17 goals in 15 appearances in all competitions this season. Would offer Arsenal another striking option which could be key to any title challenge.

Arsenal could look to offer Joel Campbell, who is currently on loan at the Athens based side, to help finance a deal for Mitroglou.

Victor Valdes (Barcelona)

Barcelona keeper has already stated his intention to leave next summer but perhaps the Nou Camp side would consider January offers for the Spanish international to avoid losing the player on a free transfer.

Any such move would of course depend on the La Liga side bringing in a suitable replacement before any offer for Valdes would be considered.

Arsene Wenger may well feel that the 31 year old would be a good addition to fight Pole Wojciech Szczesny for the Gunners starting spot.
