Former Craven Cottage favourite set for short term return.
Seattle Sounders forward Clint Dempsey has apparently turned down an offer from West Ham in preference at re-signing for former club Fulham according to Sports Direct News.
The 30 year old moved back to the United States over the summer after an unsuccessful spell at Tottenham but is ready to re-join Fulham on a two month loan deal in an attempt to help the Craven Cottage side to pull away from the relegation zone after a poor start to the season, which led to the sacking of boss Martin Jol.
New manager Rene Meulensteen could certainly do with the addition of an experienced proven Premier League goal-scorer with Fulham thus far managing just 14 goals in 15 Premier League fixtures.
Dempsey netted 60 goals in 225 appearances during his six season spell at Fulham prior to an ill fated switch to White Hart Lane.
