Ten Players Linked With Man United Exit In Mass Old Trafford Clear-Out

Man United boss David Moyes is set to swing the axe with as many as ten of his players linked with an Old Trafford exit according to the Daily Mail.

The Scot is keen to put his own stamp on the squad he inherited from Sir Alex Ferguson and after a shaky start to his reign as Man United boss Moyes is keen to ring the changes and is willing to axe any under-performing players he feels he can ably replace.

Moyes is ready to listen to offers for wingers Ashley Young and Nani with neither player impressing thus far this season and both players arguably worth a decent sum which can then be used to fuel advances for additional wide attackers.

Young has been particularly poor this term and has come in for criticism over his diving antics and Portuguese international Nani has failed to make an impact and could well be keen on a fresh challenge after seven seasons at the club.

David Moyes is also reportedly considering the future of another wide-man with Luis Antonio Valencia also among a list of players this source believes could be offloaded.

The Ecuadorian has shown glimpses of good form this season but has on the whole been fairly ineffective and his return of just two goals in his last 43 Premier League appearances will be a concern as Moyes looks to his wide attackers to weigh in with goals to support his strikers, not least as his central midfield players are similarly shot shy.

Tom Cleverley has admitted his form this term has not been up to scratch and it’s apparently a view Moyes shares as he is apparently a player playing for his Man United future.

The England international could well be on his way if Moyes finds suitable additions to boost his midfield.

Forwards Danny Welbeck and Javier Hernandez are also supposedly on the list of players David Moyes could look to sell, seemingly for very different reasons.

England man Welbeck is criticized for not scoring frequently enough, indeed even after his brace against Aston Villa the powerful forward has netted four goals in total this season and managed just one goals in 27 Premier League appearances during the last campaign.

Hernandez on the other hand barely gets a look in under David Moyes, managing just three Premier League starts this season.

The Mexican may have hoped that his first team chances would improve under new management but his chances are as few and far between than they were during Sir Alex Ferguson’s time in charge.

The 25 year old may well welcome the chance to secure regular first team football elsewhere.

Brazilian midfielder Anderson is also set to be shown the door after flattering to deceive at Old Trafford for the best part of three seasons.

The midfielder has started just two Premier League fixtures this season and hasn’t shown enough to warrant a more regular place in the Man United line-up and David Moyes will look to recoup some of the massive £20m paid to FC Porto back in 2007.

Dutch left-back Alexander Buttner will also be on his way, no doubt well aware that David Moyes is keen to bring in Leighton Baines from former club Everton to act as a replacement for Patrice Evra.

Buttner has looked impressive when called upon but has made just one Premier League appearance this season.

Finally David Moyes is apparently not likely to offer veteran pair Rio Ferdinand or Patrice Evra new contracts when their current deals come to an end.

35 year old centre-back Ferdinand has been in and out of the side this season but appears to be set for retirement in the summer, unless a new challenge is offered to the former skipper.

Evra could well be set for a return to his native France after nine seasons at Man United.
