Liverpool have sent a number of scouts over to Germany in recent weeks to cast an eye over Hamburg’s teenage defender Jonathan Tah, according to reports in Sports Direct News.

The 17-year-old has showed enormous potential and has even broke into the club’s first team, where he has established himself as a regular starter, and it is now thought that Brendan Rodgers is taking a closer look at him with the view of making an offer in the new year.

Tah is also a mainstay in the German under-17 national side, and is expected to just attract more interest from elsewhere as he continues to grow at his current rate of develop.

Rodgers is known to always be on thew lookout for exciting young talent as he continues to build the team around a sustainable model for the future and has done so ever since taking over at the club last summer. He is now thought to have Tah in his sights and will look to bring him on board as soon as possible.

Another Hamburg player recently linked with Liverpool is 19-year-old Turkish winger Hakan Calhanoglu.
