Having seen Fernando Torres, Samuel Eto’o and Demba Ba fail to impress this season it’s not surprise that Stamford Bridge boss Jose Mourinho would seek to bring in an alternative striking option to lead his line and a move for 27 year old Brazilian international Hulk may well be a sensible one to pursue.

The powerful forward initially struggled for form following his big money move from FC Porto to the Russian Premier League but has impressed this season, scoring 10 goals and providing nine assists in 17 appearances to help his side to the top of the domestic table.

This source claims a summer move for the attacker is more likely than a January one and Hulk may well jump at the chance of a move to the Premier League side, not least as he would join fellow national team colleagues David Luiz, Ramires and Oscar at the West London club.

Zenit paid £33m to bring in Hulk and would presumably demand a fee in excess of that outlay and Mourinho will hope to have the financial backing of Chelsea chairman Roman Abramovich to make a tempting offer.
