The 27-year-old has drawn heavy interest from Premier League dup Liverpool and Arsenal, whilst Paris Saint Germain in the player’s homeland are also said to be monitoring his situation and a new year move away from St James’ Park now seems likely.
However, Pardew is still hoping that he will be able to keep the France international in the Northeast, and will be doing whatever is necessary to make sure that happens.
“I am pretty confident that my owner and the club are in a great financial position.
“I would be a lot more nervous if we weren’t.
“He’s a great player, there are always going to be big clubs sniffing around him.
“We are fortunate to have him, we are enjoying him while he is here, long may that continue.”
So far this season Cabaye has scored four times in 14 Premier League appearances.
