Recently sacked White Hart Lane boss Andre Villas-Boas is strongly linked with a return to Portugal to take charge of his former club FC Porto according to Sports Direct News.

The 36 year old was axed by Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy after a series of poor displays, with a 5-0 home defeat to Liverpool being the final straw, but could be set to return to FC Porto.

Current boss Paulo Fonseca only got the FC Porto job in June and though his side sit level on point at the top of the Primeira Liga, with Benfica and Sporting Lisbon, his failure to take his side through to the knockout stages of the Champions League could prove his undoing.

Villas-Boas guided FC Porto to a treble, a domestic double and a Europa League success, in his one season in charge of the club which then led to his move to become Chelsea boss which in turn led to a swift sacking and a move to North London club Spurs.
