Man United Draw Up 12 Man Wish-List as David Moyes is Handed £100m Transfer Fund

Old Trafford side ready to spend big.

Man United boss David Moyes will apparently be handed a £100m transfer war-chest to invest in his Old Trafford squad and BT Sport has named a dozen talents that are on the Scot’s wish-list.

The Scot is ready to spend in the January transfer window and having finished 2013 with four straight Premier League victories Moyes will be buoyed by the club’s willingness to back him financially in the transfer market.

Moyes believes he needs a minimum of three additions to have any chance of helping his side to secure major silverware in his first season in the post.

Ross Barkley (Everton)

The young England man is apparently the Man United manager’s top transfer priority and clearly Moyes knows the Everton man from his tenure in charge of the Toffees.

Roberto Martinez has stated he has no intention of selling the 20 year old though this may not stop Moyes from making a big money offer knowing full well that financial stability is key for chairman Bill Kenwright, having previously seen top players sold to balance the books when he was manager of the Merseyside club.

Everton Ribeiro (Cruzeiro)

The talented Brazilian is seen as a replacement for Japanese international Shinji Kagawa, who is likely to leave after failing to make the grade at the Premier League club.

Ribeiro has apparently talked up the possibility of making a move to Man United and is perhaps one of the most likely additions Man United could make next month.

Koke (Atletico Madrid)

The 21 year old Spanish international is in fine form and is valued at a very affordable £18m by this source, the Vicente Calderon midfielder has racked up eight La Liga assists this season, only Cesc Fabregas has produced more this season.

Ander Herrera (Athletic Bilbao)

A long term Man United target and a player who could well be tempted by a move to Old Trafford though Moyes was quoted an inflated £30m price-tag for the box to box performer when he previously showed an interest in Herrera.

Cristian Zapata (AC Milan)

David Moyes is likely to see Rio Ferdinand leave the club in the summer and with Nemanja Vidic struggling with injuries the Man United boss is keen on the solid AC Milan centre-back.

Alberto Moreno (Sevilla)

With an eye to replacing Patrice Evra Moyes has targeted the highly rated Sevilla man as a possible target, the 21 year old’s form has earned a call up to the Spanish national team and his employers may well need to cash in on his services having sold a number of top players over the summer just to balance the books with the likes of Jesus Navas and Alvaro Negredo moving to Manchester City.

Fabio Coentrao (Real Madrid)

The 25-year-old almost joined United on loan on deadline day and the Portuguese international is apparently keen on a fresh challenge and can also be used at both full-back or further up on the left-flank.

Nemanja Matic (Benfica)

Man United want to bring in the defensive midfielder back to the Premier League, the Serbian having failed to make an impact at Chelsea before moving to Benfica.

However David Moyes will have to fork out upwards of £20m to get his man, a task that could well have been improved by the fact that Benfica failed to make it through to the last 16 of the Champions League.

Marco Reus (Borussia Dortmund)

The 24 year old German international could perhaps be tempted by a move away from the Westfalenstadion given that Jurgen Klopp’s side are way off the Bundesliga title pace and only just scrapped into the last 16 of the Champions League.

Reus could provide Moyes with a goal threat from the midfield, something he currently does not possess.

Angel Di Maria (Real Madrid)

The Bernabeu side have indicated they may be ready to sell the Argentine winger and given the lack of consistency shown by the likes of Nani, Ashley Young and Luis Antonio Valencia there is a decent chance that Moyes would look to sign a winger in January.

Di Maria has seen his first team chances limited by the arrival of Gareth Bale.

Ivan Rakitic (Sevilla)

Croatian has been in the best form of his career this term but the asking price of £33m is likely to scare Man United away though a decent bid may be hard for the cash-strapped La Liga side to turn down.

Fabian Schar (FC Basel)

In terms of a defensive addition a move for the FC Basel man could perhaps be one that could be entirely plausible next month though Arsenal are also tracking the youngster.

The adaptable 21 year old can play at centre-back as well as on the right hand side of the defence and wouldn’t cost the earth.
