Real Madrid Eye Mata As Di Maria Replacement

La Liga giants Real Madrid are said to be eyeing Chelsea star Juan Mata as a replacement for the outgoing Angel Di Maria this month, according to the Daily Express.

Reports have suggested that the Spanish international has been offered to both Real and arch rivals Barcelona after falling out of favour at Stamford Bridge this season.

And Argentine international Di Maria is expected to be pushed out after Gareth Bale’s arrival seriously impacted on his playing time.

Alonso Tops Chelsea Wish list

Real Madrid midfielder Xabi Alonso has emerged as Chelsea’s number one priority in terms of transfer activity and Jose Mourinho is looking to do whatever he can to bring him back to the Premier League, the Daily Express reports.

Mourinho coached the player during his own time with the Spanish capital club and the pair enjoyed a good working relationship, which has resulted in the Portuguese coach placing the player at the top of his wish list.

Contract negotiations between the two have stalled and the former Liverpool man would be allowed to leave on a free transfer at the end of the season.

Courtois Unsure Over Future

Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is still unsure over his future as the end of his third consecutive loan spell with Spanish giants Atletico Madrid comes to a close, Inside Futbol reports.

The 21-year-old has maintained that he wants first team football and is not willing to return to Chelsea if it means sitting on the bench to play second fiddle to Petr Cech.

A number of top European clubs are said to be keeping tabs on him, though he is still uncertain as to what his future will hold.

Chelsea Target Staying With Milan

Blues target Mario Balotelli has spoken about the rumours linking him with a move away from the San Siro by insisting that he will be staying with the club, Sky Sports reports.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho had been keeping tabs on his former charge having worked with the player during their time together at Inter Milan.

However, Balotelli has insisted that he still has work to do in Milan and has waved away talk by saying: “I will remain at Milan – I must arrive at the World Cup especially tranquil.”
