Man City Set to Sign Nigerian Wonderkid Kelechi Iheanacho

Etihad Stadium side to bring in young goal machine.

Man City are closing in on a deal to sign Nigerian striker Kelechi Iheanacho according to the Daily Mirror.

Manuel Pellegrini has been chasing the teenager for some weeks now but the Etihad Stadium side are tying up a work permit for the 17 year old forward after Ferran Soriano and Txiki Begiristain used their contacts in Spain to set up training facilities for the starlet marksman prior to his official move to the Premier League club.

Kelechi Iheanacho was a huge success at last summer’s FIFA Under 17 World Cup, finishing the tournament as the top scorer as Nigeria won the title down chiefly to the six goals he netted in seven matches.

Clearly the youngster will not be figuring in first team action for some time but when he is primed and ready to do so he will have to fight his way past the likes of Sergio Aguero, Alvaro Negredo, Edin Dzeko, Stevan Jovetic and John Guidetti for a spot in Pellegrini’s side.
