The former Fiorentina forward has barely featured for the Etihad Stadium side down to injuries and a failure to impress boss Manuel Pellegrini and whilst a move back to Serie A may interest the Montenegro international one wonders why Juventus would be interested in the City star.

Antonio Conte invested in Carlos Tevez and Fernando Llorente and have a host of back-up striking options so wouldn’t appear to need to consider another attacking addition and would be loathed to lose such a pivotal player as Pogba, who has been in fine form over the past 18 months.

Pogba left Man United in July 2012 and the 20 year old is already a regular in the Juventus starting line-up, racking up 61 appearances for the Turin side.

In contrast Jovetic, who has suffered calf, hamstring and groin injuries this season – in addition to illness, has managed just one Premier League start since completing his £22m move to Man City last summer.
