The youngster in question on this occasion is Munir El Haddad, an 18-year-old who plays wide on the left and who has also reportedly been attracting the attentions of both mega-rich Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain and Bundesliga and Uefa Champions League holders Bayern Munich too of late.

And while the Catalan giants hope to be able to tie their attacking starlet down to a new long-term deal shortly, that has not stopped this trio of heavyweight clubs from across the Continent from recently sniffing around El Haddad themselves in the hope of being able to lure the player away from Camp Nou.

Meanwhile, the north London club’s head coach Arsene Wenger himself has a long history of poaching young talent from the Spanish champions’ famed academy La Masia, with former skipper and Spain international Cesc Fabregas perhaps the most famous example.

However, the Gunners have also in recent years managed to lure the likes of both Jon Toral and Hector Bellerin away from Camp Nou too.
