Gunners boss has long been linked with a move to sign the Old Trafford attacker and efforts to do so have been re-ignited by the long term injury suffered by England international Theo Walcott.

The 27 year old Portuguese attacker has barely featured under David Moyes and doesn’t appear to have a future at the Premier League title holders and may well welcome a fresh challenge.

Nani has managed just five Premier League starts this term, and hasn’t exactly set the world alight when called upon, but Man United will be reticent about selling to a direct domestic rival and interest from Juventus, Sporting Lisbon and AS Monaco may prove more fruitful.

David Moyes has seen a number of his wide options fail to make an impact this term, with Luis Antonio Valencia and Ashley Young also being inconsistent this term whilst youngster Wilfried Zaha hasn’t been given a chance to shine since his £15m move from Crystal Palace.

Wenger will be looking to strengthen his attack this month as his side mounts a genuine Premier League title challenge for the first time in years.
