Man United Draw-Up Striker Wish-List: Trio of World-Class Talents on Old Trafford Shopping List

Old Trafford side target top quality attackers.

Man United boss David Moyes is readying moves to bring in a new striker signing in the summer with fears growing that Wayne Rooney could leave Old Trafford and continuing injury concerns over Dutch ace Robin Van Persie.

The Daily Mail claim that Moyes is looking to therefore bring in one of a trio of world-class talents to help fill any potential striking void.

Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa is one name on the Man United shopping list with the Brazilian born striker, with the intention of representing Spain at national team level, proving a massive hit this season.

The 25 year old has formed a potent strike pairing with veteran David Villa, netting an astonishing 19 goals in 19 La Liga fixtures this term and is a player Diego Simeone may struggle to keep hold of.

Atletico Madrid are well known for cashing in on their top talents, with Man United previously raiding the Spanish capital side to land young keeper David de Gea.

Moyes may be confident he could lure Costa to Man United and the powerful forward has the physical presence to be a big hit in the English top tier.

Radamel Falcao left Atletico for AS Monaco last summer and is also on the Man United striker shopping-list and is a player who would cost David Moyes a small fortune.

The 27 year old Colombian moved to the Stade Louis II side last summer in a £53m transfer and has been a regular goal-scorer for the principality side though is said to be unsettled in Ligue 1 and could jump at the chance of a move to the Premier League.

One imagines such a move would have to cost Man United a fee in excess of Monaco’s outlay and would also require the Old Trafford side to offer a bumper contract to compete with the tax free earnings the former FC Porto man is currently enjoying.

Falcao has scored 10 goals in 16 appearances for Monaco and scored 142 goals in the four previous seasons in Spain and Portugal, more than proving that he can score goals just about everywhere.

The third player said to be on David Moyes’s wish-list is PSG ace Edinson Cavani, another player who only recently completed a move to Ligue 1 and another player who would set back Man United a fee well in excess of their club record capture.

Cavani has formed a hugely successful pairing with Swede Zlatan Ibrahimovic and is not a player the Parc des Princes side would be considering offers for and clearly the cash rich side would have no financial compunction to do so.

Much like Falcao, Cavani has scored freely in the French top tier and has seen PSG become something of a powerhouse on the European stage, his side safely securing passage to the last 16 of the Champions League so on the face of it there appears no reason why the former Napoli man would consider a move to Man United.

To have any hope of landing any of this striking trio David Moyes would have to have secured a top four finish and the resultant Champions League qualification, failure to do so would also only increase the chances of Rooney pushing for a Man United exit at the end of the current campaign.
