Stamford Bridge side want Inter Milan defender.
Chelsea are continuing to pursue Inter Milan centre-back Andrea Ranocchia with the San Siro side open to selling the Italian international for the right price according to Sports Direct News.
Jose Mourinho is apparently keen to bring in the 25 year old to help boost his back-line, perhaps in view of the fact that the Blues boss appears to prefer to use David Luiz in a defensive midfield role and also in view of John Terry’s advancing years.
Inter Milan want £12m for Ranocchia which seems a fair price for a player with obvious ability and Mourinho may feel he has a fair chance of doing business with his former club.
Current Inter coach Walter Mazzarri is ready to sell Ranocchia though the towering defender has a number of suitors so it may not be plain sailing for Chelsea as they look to bring in further January additions having already brought in Benfica’s Nemanja Matic.
Borussia Dortmund are also keen on Ranocchia who is looking for a move that gives him a good chance of securing regular first team football which in turn would assist in his push for a prominent role in Cesare Prandelli’s 2014 World Cup finals squad.
