The experienced Colombia international had appeared to be on the verge of moving to Uefa Europa League holders Chelsea in the January transfer window, only for that move to fall through at the very last minute.

And then Guarin seemed set to join Serie A champions Juventus, with the Old Lady of Italian Football’s own out-of-favour front man Mirko Vucinic moving in the opposite direction to San Siro, only for that move to also then collapse right at the death too.

However, with Inter in deep financial straits at present and in urgent need of cash, the club have now instructed Guarin’s agent to find his client a new club before the winter transfer window slams shut for business for the season once again at the end of this month.

And with Red Devils head coach David Moyes known to be a huge admirer of the 27-year-old, with the Scot understood to view the box-to-box goalscoring midfielder as being exactly the type of the player that his struggling team are in need of at present, Inter now hope to be able to conclude a swap deal involving Guarin and United forward Hernandez.
