The La Liga side may well fear the loss of top scorer Diego Costa, who is attracting a fair bit of attention this term, and Vicente Calderon boss Diego Simeone may well see the Mexican international as the ideal man to fill the potential void.

Chicharito has failed to retain a foothold in the Man United starting eleven and if anything his chances have become even more limited under David Moyes, this despite the fact that when called upon the 25 year old has scored regularly.

Hernandez moved to Man United back in July 2010 and has gone on to score 57 goals in 140 appearances for the Old Trafford side, though that stat is all the more impressive when you consider 59 of those appearances came from the bench.

David Moyes doesn’t appear to see Hernandez as a crucial part of his plans with Robin Van Persie, Wayne Rooney and Danny Welbeck all ahead of the sharp shooter in his Man United pecking order.
