GK: Simon Mignolet

The Belgium international has been one of manager Brendan Rodgers’s better signings from the summer, starting in every single Premier League game to date, and you get the feeling he will need another big match in goal at Anfield if the Reds are going to win this contest.

RB: Martin Kelly

In the injury-enforced absence of first-choice right-back Glen Johnson, Rodgers went with the England international in his place against Bournemouth in the FA Cup fourth round on Saturday, and the Northern Irishman is likely to stick with the young full back against the Toffees.

CB: Kolo Toure

Untimely injuries to the likes of both central defenders Daniel Agger and Mamadou Sakho means that the experienced Ivorian will now keep his place at the heart of the Reds back four when Everton come to town on Tuesday night.

CB: Martin Skrtel

Without a shadow of a doubt, Liverpool’s best defender so far this season, with the rugged and shaven-headed Slovakia international skipper an absolute rock at the back for the Merseysiders throughout this campaign to date.

LB: Aly Cissokho

The on-loan Frenchman has not been convincing at all since he joined the club from La Liga outfit Valencia on a season-long loan deal last summer, and there is no doubt that the visitors will be targeting the left-hand side of the Liverpool back four at Anfield on Tuesday evening.

CM: Steven Gerrard

The Reds skipper has once again led from the front so far in this campaign, with both goals and assists to his name so far, and all this despite the all-action midfielder’s advancing years, so expect another big game from captain marvel in the centre of the park against Everton.

CM: Jordan Henderson

The energetic England international has been in eye-catching form all season, his best so far in a Liverpool shirt, although a few more goals from midfield would not go amiss, starting against the Toffees perhaps?

RW: Raheem Sterling

The young England flyer has returned to somewhere near his best form for the Reds in this campaign and after being rested against Bournemouth in the cup on the weekend, expect the wide man to come straight back into the starting lineup against Everton.

LW: Philippe Coutinho

The twinkle-toed Brazilian schemer will be one of the major threats to Everton leaving Anfield unbeaten on Tuesday night, with the playmaker a man for the big occasion.

ST: Luis Suarez

The Premier League’s stand-out performer of the campaign so far with plenty of goals, assists, and trickery to boot, so goodness only knows what to expect from the mercurial Uruguay attacker at Anfield on Tuesday.

FW: Daniel Sturridge

The England international only recently regained full fitness following a six-week layoff with an ankle problem, although it did not take the striker long to get his name on the scoresheet once again, while he also headed home a dramatic late equaliser when the two sides last met at Goodison Park in October.
