Moyes is keen to make another addition to his surprise £37.1m capture of Juan Mata from Chelsea last week and is keeping tabs on players eyed by the club’s rivals.
The Scot has already had an approach for Porto midfielder Fernando knocked back by the Portuguese giants, but has apparently now turned his attention toward the Paris Saint Germain’s France international Matuidi.
Moyes was recently in attendance to watch the Ligue 1 champions defeat Bordeaux in the Coupe De La Ligue in mid-January, where he saw the player get himself on the scoresheet.
The 26-year-old is out of contract in the French capital at the end of the season and is now free to talk to other clubs. However, his contract situation at the Parc des Princes is a complicated one, as his current agent Mino Raiola, and former agent, Jean-Pierre Barnes, are involved in a legal dispute regarding the player’s representation.
But the Ligue 1 big spenders are keen to keep him at the club and coach Laurent Blanc is hoping that he can convince him to commit his future to them.
