Manchester United Manager David Moyes Prepares To Offload Six Stars This Summer

Under-pressure Manchester United head coach David Moyes is set to embark on  major overhaul of the Premier League champions’ first-team squad at the end of the season, with the Scot having earmarked six stars for the chop, according to reports in the Mail on Sunday.

The Red Devils suffered yet another top-flight loss against Stoke City at the Britannia stadium on Saturday afternoon to all but end their slim hopes of retaining their title this season.

And now the Scot has decided that he needs to release a number of the club’s under-performing and ageing stars this summer, with the likes of Rio Ferdinand, Nemanja Vidic, Patrice Evra, Nani, Ashley Young and Antonio Valencia all expected to leave Old Trafford.

Defenders Ferdinand, Vidic and Evra have all struggled for form or fitness so far this season under the new manger, while wide men Young, Valencia and Nani have failed to convince on the flanks too.

Moyes splashed out a club-record £37m in order to bring Chelsea’s Spain international Juan Mat to the Theatre of Dreams last week and now the former Everton boss is set to bring in a number of other big-name players to the club for next season.
