Liverpool are ready to offer Italian forward Fabio Borini as bait in their pursuit of Sunderland winger Adam Johnson according to Sports Direct News.

Anfield boss Brendan Rodgers is keen on in-form England man Johnson and Black Cats boss has seen Borini produce the goods since the Uruguayan took over at the Stadium of Light and could entertain the notion of any sort of player exchange if indeed the Sunderland wide-man choose to push for a move to the Merseyside club.
The former Man City man may well be all the more tempted by a move to Liverpool if Rodgers secures a top four finish this term.
Rodgers brought in Victor Moses from Chelsea but the Nigerian has struggled to impress during his loan spell at the club and it’s unlikely a permanent deal would be sought.
Liverpool attempted to bring in Mohamed Salah and Yevhen Konoplyanka last month, illustrating the club’s pursuit of a fresh wide attacking option.
Johnson has netted six goals in his past five appearances and is a good bet for a spot in Roy Hodgson’s 2014 World Cup finals squad.
