The 21-year-old is currently plying his trade with Hertha Berlin, where he is on a season long loan from fellow Bundesliga side Wolfsburg and Brendan Rodgers is reportedly keen on making a move for him at the end of the season.
The Germany under-19 international joined Wolfsburg back in 2010, but has failed to establish himself in the side and has made just a total of seven appearances during that time. He has spent the bulk of that time on loan with Borussia Monchengladbach, but has spent this term impressing in the capital.
However, Hertha coach Jos Luhukay is a big admirer of the young star saying; “[He is] constantly on the move, dynamic, technically good,” and the Dutch coach is widely expected to try and make a permanent move for the player in the summer.
Liverpool could still put a block on that attempt, though, as they would be able to outbid the Germans and Rodgers would even be able to offer the player a fair chance at making it into the first team on a regular basis.
