Liverpool thumped Arsenal, netting four goals in the opening 19 minutes of this encounter, here’s our player ratings.

Simon Mignolet – 7

Had little to do but when needed he pulled off a few solid stops, including a quality save from a Mikel Arteta frer-kick.

Aly Cissokho – 8

Solid at the back and a real threat going forward, perhaps loaned in wide-man’s best performance in a Liverpool shirt.

Martin Skrtel – 9

Rock Solid at the back and two goals to set Liverpool on their way.

Kolo Toure – 7

Occasionally lost the ball but no massive errors for a change.

John Flanagan – 8

Youngster has a fantastic game. Nullified the Arsenal threat and at times played in superb first time passes.

Jordan Henderson – 7

Had a decent game though did miss a clear-cut chance in the second half.

Philippe Coutinho – 9

Mercurial Brazilian was a key performer in the final third, some superb runs and delightful distribution.

Steven Gerrard – 8

Captain rarely put a foot wrong but his copy-book was blighted by silly foul that handed Arsenal a spot-kick.

Raheem Sterling – 9

A constant threat, the youngster could easily have had a hat-trick.

Luis Suarez – 8

Full of running, played a part in Liverpool’s dismantling of the Arsenal back four without getting on the score-sheet. Hit the post with a goal of the season contender.

Daniel Sturridge – 8

Calmly slotted home the fourth and his pace and ability to hold up the ball caused Arsenal’s centre-backs endless headaches.

Came out to close down the game and did just that.

Youngster rarely had a touch.
