Manchester United boss David Moyes will make a return move for Atletico Madrid full-back Felipe this summer after seeing a move for the player rejected by the Spaniards during the January transfer window.
Sports Direct News reports that the Premier League champions had identified the player as the ideal replacement for veteran left-back Patrice Evra after missing out on Everton’s Leighton Baines, who penned a new deal to stay with the Toffees late last year.
United have made no secret of their desire to bring someone in in that position as Evra looks increasingly likely to leave in the summer when his current deal expires.
Evra turns 33 soon, and Moyes is acutely aware of his need to bring in someone that can take over from him in the near future, if not a direct replacement as soon as possible, and reports in Spain are claiming that the manager offered the Spanish club £16.6m for the former Deportivo La Coruna ace, but neither he nor the club were interested in doing a deal.
However, that is not thought to have deterred the Scot, who will make a renewed attempt at the end of the season when Atletico know what they will be doing next season.
