It’s probably fair to say that Jose Antonio Reyes didn’t have the best of times in North London, the Spaniard costing Arsenal as much as £17m, and far too often flattering to deceive.

See a comprehensive list of all the purchases in the IPL 2014 Auction.

The 30 year old winger is now back at his hometown Sevilla but has arguably never delivered on his obvious potential.

Indeed Reyes hasn’t represented the Spanish national team since 2006 and a recall doesn’t look like it’s in the offing.

Cesc Fabregas on the other hand is doing just fine at Barcelona, despite constant speculation linking him with a Nou Camp exit.

One often hears talk of the attacking midfielder not being used in a prominent enough role at Barcelona but it’s worth noting that only Gerard Pique has started more La Liga fixtures this term, if you are counting just outfield players.

Fabregas’s return of 13 goals in all competitions this season isn’t to be sniffed at either and the 26 year old is the top assist maker in La Liga to boot.
