Old Trafford bit-part player turns back on social media after relentless abuse.

Poor old Tom Cleverley. The Manchester United midfielder admitted to feeling like a scapegoat recently and now the Englishman has been bullied off Twitter.
The 24-year-old has closed his account @tomclevz23 after being abused by trolls, largely due to an interview the England international gave in British newspaper the Daily Mirror on Tuesday.
“I would like the fans on my side and it hurts a little bit when you have grown up at the club and love the club every bit as much as the supporters,” Cleverley told the Mirror’s Oliver Holt.
“I feel I’ve been made a scapegoat a little bit. A few people in the media certainly seem to have a perception of me not doing much in the team.”
The Twitterati reacted as one might imagine to these comments from the United man and the midfielder was hammered online.
It’s not the first time that Cleverley has suffered at the hand of the trolls, as an #AskCarrick Q&A session initiated by the official Red Devils handle quickly became a platform for abuse.
#AskCarrick If you had to drop 1 player from the team how would you tell Cleverly?

#AskCarrick Did Cleverly win a competition on the back of a box of cereals to play for MUFC?

#AskCarrick Do you die a little inside when you’re looking for someone to pass to and Tom Cleverley is to your left.

However, Cleverley clearly still has some fans out there as many have jumped to the defence of the Red Devils youth product.
No matter if you like Cleverley or not there was no need to abuse him on Twitter, fans that needlessly abuse players disgust me.

Cleverley has left twitter, sad. He’s been poor this season but he wasn’t the only one. The abuse he has received has been over the top.

I feel bad for Cleverley. He hasn’t been playing well but I respect him. He is also member of #mufcfamily he need our support.
