Stamford Bridge side target Croatian international.

CaughtOffside understands that Mourinho is ready to offer £25m for Croatian international Mandzukic who is likely to see his first team chances limited by the arrival of Robert Lewandowski.

Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola has signed the Polish international from domestic rivals Borussia Dortmund on a free transfer and sees the Bundesliga goal machine as a better fit for his Bavarian side.
Mandzukic may well jump at the chance of a move to Stamford Bridge, where his first team chances will prove infinitely easier given the lack of consistency displayed by the likes of Fernando Torres, Demba Ba and Samuel Eto’o, who could all be set for Chelsea exits at the end of the season.
27 year old Mandzukic has proven a big success since moving to the Allianz Arena, netting 21 goals in his first season at the club and already scoring 18 in all competitions this term, however the former Wolfsburg man is sure to see Lewandowski’s arrival as a sign that Guardiola doesn’t rate him as an ongoing first choice marksman.
Chelsea have been scouting Mandzukic, who Mourinho feels would work well in the physically challenging environment of the English top tier.
