The Top 20 Most Likely Summer Transfers Including Arsenal And Chelsea Mammoth Buys And Luis Suarez Anfield Exit

The 20 biggest deals that are expected to be completed in the summer.

Although the season is currently reaching a crucial stage – with the Champions League last-16 about to start – the big clubs will already be looking towards the summer and new transfers.

Here are the 20 biggest deals CaughtOffside expects to happen in the next window.

20 . Samuel Eto’o – Chelsea to Mallorca

“My son has pressured me to finish [my career] there. My son is from Mallorca. I miss everything from there,” the striker was quoted by Sky Sports and Eto’o’s current deal at Stamford Bridge expires in the summer.

19. Ashley Cole – Chelsea to Liverpool

The England international has struggled with form and fitness and has been used sparingly by the Blues this term, whilst Brendan Rodgers is in desperate need of recruitment at left-back and Cole would be available on a free.

18. Nemanja Vidic – Manchester United to Inter Milan

The Red Devils captain has already confirmed he will be leaving Old Trafford at the end of this season and reports suggest the Serie A outfit have already negotiated a contract for the Serbian.

17. Etienne Capoue – Tottenham Hotspur to Napoli

Source: Guardian.

Only signed for Spurs in the summer for £9.5m, but new manager Tim Sherwood is not a fan of the Frenchman’s work ethic and Tottenham would sanction a deal if they didn’t lose too much money.

16. Sebastian Rode – Eintracht Frankfurt to Bayern Munich

Source: ESPN.

This is perhaps the worst kept secret in German football and many are reporting the deal is already done, but either way it looks certain to happen.

15. Martin Caceres – Juventus to Manchester United

Source: Daily Express.

With United knowing they need to replace Vidic and Rio Ferdinand also strongly linked with leaving the club, Juve centre-back Caceres has emerged as a top target for the Premier League champions.

14. Mirko Vucinic – Juventus to Tottenham Hotspur

The Montenegro international was linked with a switch to Arsenal and then Inter Milan, with neither happening and with Vucinic almost certain to leave Turin this year, Spurs are circling.

13. Shinji Kagawa – Manchester United to Borussia Dortmund

Source: Mirror.

This is the rumour that just refuses to go away as Kagawa has struggled for game time since joining the English champions in 2012 and has openly admitted he would welcome a return to the Westfalenstadion.

12. Seamus Coleman – Everton to Manchester United

Source: Daily Mail.

David Moyes is expected to oversee an overhaul at United in the summer as the club have under-performed this term and with Coleman impressing at Goodison Park, the Scot could be tempted to make a move for his former player.

11. Adrian Ramos – Hertha Berlin to Atletico Madrid

Source: El Pais.

The Colombian has been brilliant in the Bundesliga in 2013/14 and whilst Dortmund are also eyeing up the 28-year-old, it’s thought to be Atletico who will get their man.

10. Yevhen Konoplyanka – Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk to Liverpool

The Reds were on the verge of completing a deal for the Ukraine international on transfer deadline day in January, but negotiations fell through and manager Brendan Rodgers has admitted a renewed bid could happen in the summer – “There will be a greater market to look at then but it wouldn’t stop us [signing Konoplyanka],” the Northern Irishman told the BBC.

9. Mario Mandzukic – Bayern Munich to Arsenal

With Robert Lewandowski arriving at the Allianz Arena in the summer, it could well spell the end for Mandzukic and the Gunners are keeping a watchful eye as they look for attacking recruitment.

8. Marc-Andre ter Stegen – Borussia Monchengladbach to Barcelona

The Catalans are on the search for a new goalkeeper for the first time in 12 years, as Victor Valdes is leaving in the summer and this young German appears to be the perfect option.

7. Eliaquim Mangala – FC Porto to Manchester City

After another impressive year with the Portuguese champions this hot prospect has attracted the attention of some of Europe’s elite, with City the most desperate for defensive support.

6. David Luiz – Chelsea to Barcelona

With Gary Cahill and John Terry the preferred central defensive partnership under Jose Mourinho and Kurt Zouma arriving in the summer, Luiz could well be on the way in a big money move.

5. Toni Kroos – Bayern Munich to Manchester United

Source: Metro.

This was the rumour that appeared to emerge from nowhere and then earned credibility and the Red Devils will not give up the chase for the Germany international.

4. Diego Costa – Atletico Madrid to Chelsea

Source: Daily Express.

Mourinho wants new strikers in the summer as Eto’o, Demba Ba and Fernando Torres could all be axed and with 26 goals already this term, Costa is a very attractive prospect.

3. Marco Reus – Borussia Dortmund to Manchester United

Source: Telegraph.

United’s raid on the German top tier does not look like ending with Kroos, as Dortmund star Reus has also been strongly linked with a switch to England.

2. Julian Draxler – Schalke 04 to Arsenal

Source: Mirror.

Another rumour that dominated the sports headlines in January was for this talented 20-year-old, with Draxler confirmed as having a £37m release clause that the Gunners need to decide whether to activate or not.

1. Luis Suarez – Liverpool to Real Madrid

Source: Metro.

After impressing so much with the Reds once again this season, if the club don’t make the Champions League then the Uruguay international is sure to be on his way and even if they do, a transfer to the Santiago Bernabeu could be too tempting to turn down.
