Tottenham are reportedly lining up a summer move for highly rated Ajax defender Joel Veltman according to Sports Direct News.
White Hart Lane boss Tim Sherwood is keen to bring in further central defensive options having seen his back-line breached in a big way by many of his Premier League rivals.
The North London club have conceded 32 goals in 26 Premier League fixtures, shipping in three against strugglers West Ham, eleven in two encounters with Man City and five at home to Liverpool.
Tottenham have scouted the 22 year old Dutch international and having previously brought in Jan Vertonghen and Christian Eriksen from Ajax chairman Daniel Levy will be confident of landing Veltman.
Sherwood will hope to bring in fresh additions in the summer but his ability to do so, as well as his continued presence as Tottenham manager, will depend greatly on whether he can secure a Champions League berth for next term.
