Frenchman was forced into a grovelling apology after the snap was revealed.
A picture of Arsenal striker Oivier Giroud in his underpants taken by Celia Kay is the real reason why the front man was suddenly forced to perform a dramatic U-turn and confirm that he did meet the glamour model recently, according to reports in the Daily Mail.

The Frenchman had initially denied that any meeting had taken place between the two, despite Kay having been photographed arriving at the Four Seasons hotel in Canary Wharf at 12.50am and leaving at 3.04am the same night earlier this month.
However, after the FHM and Maxim model released a picture of the 27-year-old just in his underpants in their hotel room, Giroud was quickly forced into making a grovelling apology on Twitter to his wife, family, friends, as well as Arsenal head coach Arsene Wenger and his Gunners team-mates.
“I apologise to my wife, family and friends and my manager, team-mates and Arsenal fans,” said Giroud on the social media site.
“I now have to fight for my family and for my club and obtain their forgiveness. Nothing else matters at the moment.”
Originally, the Frenchman had told Wenger that no such meeting had taken place on the night before the north London club played host to Premier League strugglers Crystal Palace at the Emirates.
However, Kay herself then responded by telling the Sun on Sunday: “Olivier knows the truth and the fact that he lied about us is pathetic.
“He’s just digging a bigger hole for himself. If he is big enough to do the crime, he’s got to serve the time.”
