The Top Ten Premier League Free Kick Takers

Based on conversion rates, here are the top ten dead ball specialists in the Premier League.

10. Pajtim Kasimi – Fulham – 20% conversion rate

The Fulham man has one goal from five attempts this season, and though his wonder goal against Crystal Palace grabbed the headlines, it was his low drive against Norwich over Christmas that has landed him an number ten.

9. Luis Suarez – Liverpool – 20.08% conversion rate

Three goals in 13 attempts coming against Hull, Everton and Norwich, the Uruguayan has proved that he is lethal from dead ball situations as well as in and around the box.

8. Adam Johnson – Sunderland – 25% conversion rate

With one goal from four attempts, Johnson’s inclusion in this list coincides with his return to form just in time for the World Cup. Could he bag himself a seat on the plane to Brazil?

7. Robert Snodgrass – Norwich City – 33% conversion rate

The Norwich winger has been in patchy form this season, but with one goal in four attempts he has shown that he knows where the goal is from around 25 yards.

6. Marko Arnautovic – Stoke City – 33% conversion rate

The Austrian international had a reputation as a free kick specialist in Germany, but with one goal in three attempts we are yet to truly see that. It is, however, still enough to get him to number six.

5. Ross Barkley – Everton – 33% conversion rate

Again, with one goal in three attempts he has climbed into the top ten. He is regarded as one of English football’s great hopes and has now added free kicks to that ever growing list of abilities.

4. Leighton Baines – Everton – 33% conversion rate

With two goals from six attempts he has earned the same conversion rate as the three players that came before him.

3. Leandro Bacuna – Aston Villa – 33% conversion rate

The young Dutchman has been making a name for himself in England with two stunning efforts from six attempts.

2. Wayne Rooney – Manchester United – 33% conversion rate

The majority of this list has a 33% conversion rate, but Rooney’s return of three goals from nine attempts places him at number two.

1. Yaya Toure – Manchester City – 80% conversion rate

The big Ivorian has blown the rest of the competition away thanks to burying four out of his five attempts this season. Fulham, Hull City, Newcastle United and Norwich City have all been on the receiving end of one of his devastatingly accurate strikes.
