The Gunners have kept an eye on the striker for the best part of the season, as have fellow Premier League rivals Everton, and Wenger is keen to get a jump of the Toffees to his signature after being impressed with what he’s seen.

And reports in Belgium are claiming that Wenger has already approached the Liege-based outfit to discuss how much they would be seeking to secure his services.

It is believed that the Gunners are hoping to pay around £10m for him and would be willing to offer that straight up if the Belgians are willing to do business.

The 20-year-old has been in prolific form in the Jupiler League, bagging 35 goals in 83 appearances for the club and has also caught the attentions of Barcelona, Real Madrid and AC Milan, who have all sent scouts over to watch him at various points this season.

A fast, strong and agile striker, Batshuayi would offer Arsenal a genuine alternative to Olivier Giroud and Yaya Sanogo.
